Bebe & Mirela Baciu
Bebe and Mirela Baciu are currently the full-time directors of The Way House in Iasi, Romania. They live in the ministry house with their 2 children, Teodora and Sebina. After spending much time in prayer and being involved in ministry at The Way, they felt more and more God's calling to work with college students full time. They desire to see college students coming back to God and worshipping Him. Each week the Bacius meet new students and spend time with them on campus and in the dorms. At The Way, they meet with students weekly for dinner, building relationships and sharing the Gospel with students individually. Every Friday evening, non-Christian students are invited to The Way to listen to songs, personal testimonies and the Gospel message.
Keith & Alicia Rumble
Keith and Alicia joined staff in 2006 (before they were married!) with a desire to serve the Lord and see people come to know Jesus…wherever He should lead them! They have both participate in ACTS, served on Mobile Impact Teams and have a heart for the lost. As part of our full-time ministry team, Keith and Alicia will be discipling college-aged students, helping them discover God's direction for their lives and encouraging them to fall deeper in love with Him. They will help lead small groups, short-term international outreaches, local outreaches and spend daily time with students. They will also be maintaining relationships with past students, planning ministry events and doing maintenance around the missions base.
Dave & Erin Frerichs
Erin became a Christian on a trip to Romania in 1992 led by Jeff Sutton. In 2000, shortly after she and David began dating, she moved to Iasi, Romania with her sister Meg to serve at Ecclesia church. She and Meg were recruited to help run Ecclesia's "English Service," a church service focused on sharing Christ with the international students studying in the city of Iasi. After Erin returned from Romania, she taught first-grade for three years, while David finished his studies in bioengineering and business, and they were married in 2003. During the past year, the Lord renewed their passion for sharing Christ with international students, especially those who have never been exposed to the gospel before. They plan to move to Iasi during 2008 to minister among the 2,000+ international students in the city.
Eli and Hollie Moyer
Hollie and Eli discovered their common heart for church planting and bringing the Gospel to unreached people groups when they both attended ACTS in the fall of 2006. Hollie also spent nearly a year in Romania on GCM’s first Mobile Impact Team, sent to establish a college outreach, and has been working steadfastly toward her four-year degree from Biola University in LA. After 5 months in Kazakhstan and almost a year at a missions base in the States, Eli joined the second MIT to Sierra Leone, West Africa for 10 months in 2007. Eli & Hollie will join the ministry in Iasi, Romania with the Frerichs’, working to establish an English-speaking ministry to international medical school students.
Trevor and Christina Jensen
After returning from the second Mobile Impact Team to Sierra Leone, West Africa, Trevor reconnected with Christina (who was attending ACTS) and asked her to be his wife! Leading up to their wedding in the fall of 2008, Trevor and Christina sought the Lord for His plan for their new life together. He perfectly fused their passion for African people and for discipleship as He lead them to join the Frerichs’ ministry to international students in Iasi, Romania.
Holly Butler
Mark James
Mark recently graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois with a Bachelor of arts degree in social service. It was through various ministry opportunities that he discovered a passion for God’s ministry to the vulnerable. After attending ACTS in 2009, Mark was able to go to San Miguel and serve Antioch Bible Community as an interim teaching and outreach elder. Mark is now living in San Miguel for nine months as a programming elder that will oversee the Fall 2010 interns.
Scott & Tammy Povins
For the past 16 years, Scott and Tammy have been serving the Lord in various ministries. They have worked with abused and neglected children, served in youth ministry and participated in several missions trips. During these trips they discovered their passion for missions. In 2009, the Lord connected the Provins' with GCM, leading them to serve Antioch Bible Community in San Miguel de Allende. Together they have a vision to see lives transformed through prayer and the teaching of God's Word. Scott is serving as the primary teaching elder of the church. Tammy serves in women's ministry and other administrative tasks.
Liz Spangler
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Public Health, Liz worked as a healthcare consultant in New York City for two years before God called her to join the ministry to international students in Romania. She joined the team in January 2009 intending to stay for 8 months. However, it became clear to her that the Lord had other intentions, and she will serve with the church until the summer of 2011. Her roles include discipling women, managing church finances, various administrative tasks, organizing and hosting social events and dinners for the church community, and generally acting as a "filler-inner" for needs that arise. Outside of her work with the church she is collaborating with a doctor to develop classes about pregnancy and maternal care for women in Iasi.
