Our Focus

At ACTS we envision young adults, in love with God, passionate to serve, fully surrendered, with faith to go the distance, so that the name of Jesus is glorified throughout the earth.

At ACTS we focus on:

  • Relationships. We value teamwork in the context of godly relationships. Jesus intended for us to grow and serve within a community of believers. At ACTS you will:
    • Learn, pray and serve together.
    • Live with up to 3 other roommates in a dorm room.
    • Participate in weekly activities to deepen these relationships.
  • Spiritual Discipline. We believe authentic motivation for ministry flows out of a deep and abiding love for Jesus Christ. To discern His direction and for the power to faithfully serve, you must know Him intimately. At ACTS, you will grow in your relationship with Christ through:
    • Worship as a team
    • Small group accountability. A time to build deeper relationships with a staff member and 2 or 3 others. Your small group will give you an opportunity to ask questions regarding the teaching, to share what God is doing in your life, and to receive prayer, encouragement and accountability from team members.
    • Intercessory prayer. This is a time for you to identify with the needs of others, seek the Lord's direction on how to pray, and seek His intervention in that particular situation. During this time you will focus on needs other than your own.
    • Solitude: just you, your Bible and God. Solitude with God. This is the most important part of the day for personal growth. During this time you will learn how to journal and devote time to God alone.
    • Scripture Memorization: Each ACTS student will be required to memorize portions of scripture throughout the program.
    • Book reading and reflection. A sample of past books include: Screwtape Letters, The Pursuit of God, Passion and Purity, Absolute Surrender, Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, Revolution in World Missions, No Compromise , We Would See Jesus and others.
  • Ministry. We believe that serving in ministry truly pleases God and defines a true disciple. Jesus said in Matthew 22 that we must love Him with all our hearts and love our neighbors. Each ACTS team member will serve with a local ministry 2 to 3 hours per day up to 2 days per week. On alternate days you will be on a meal ministry team or doing general maintenance. This keeps costs down and provides an opportunity to practice service to others. At ACTS you will:
    • Serve inner-city youth in the local community
    • Share Jesus through evangelism on the local college campus
    • Participate in service tasks in the community
  • Defining Passion. Each student will leave with more clearly defined passion and a deeper understanding of God’s will for your life. You will:
    • Gain a clear understanding of your Bibilical Purpose
    • Identify, define and write out your personal core life values
    • Clarify your passion and vision for your
